MARTHALINE: S648-GBL

September 2021: Thanks to the generous donation from Toshia Dunlap, Marthaline has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. She received an incomplete for the 2020-2021 school year. Due to COVID-19 outbreak, schools in Liberia had irregular school schedule. This combined with the lack of technology in the schools, some schools made the decision to keep students in their current grade level for the 2021-2022 school year. Marthaline was kept in her current grade level of 1st  grade for the upcoming school year. She continues to live with her father and still wants to be a doctor when she grows up.

September 2020:  Meet Marthaline, who has been generously sponsored by Andrew Palmer. She is 9 years old and is in the 1st grade this year. She lives in Gbeleyee Town, Liberia with her father. Marthaline’s father has 3 wives. When the father found out that Marthaline’s mother had a boyfriend, he became physically and verbally abusive towards Marthaline’s mother. One day, she packed up and ran away when her husband the other 2 wives were on the farm. Marthaline was left behind. Unfortunatly, the wives are not very kind to Marthaline.  Her interests are to save lives and she hopes to be a medical doctor when she grows up.
