2024
Linda was promoted to the first grade this year, and her favorite subject is science. In 2023, Linda was placed with a different family who could not afford to send her to school, so she missed out on her education that year. However, with the help of Girl Power Africa, Linda is back in school in 2024 and is extremely grateful for the opportunity. She is excited to continue her education and is thrilled to be back in the classroom. Linda’s passion for learning and her appreciation for the chance to attend school shine through, and we are excited to see her thrive this year. Sponsored by: Peggy & John Sundquist

We are pleased to announce that Linda was promoted to the K-2 grade for the 2022/2023 school year. Her favorite subject is writing and she continues to want to be a nurse when she grows up. Nurses and health care workers in general are sorely needed in Liberia where access to medical care is challenged by a limited number of health facilities and workers. GPA is honored to walk alongside Linda and encourage her dream of becoming a nurse. Thank you for your sponsorship and giving Linda the gift of education. Sponsored by: Scott Heise

Thanks to the generous donation from Nancy Kokkonen, Linda has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. She received an incomplete for the 2020/2021 school year. Due to COVID-19 outbreak, schools in Liberia had irregular school schedule. This combined with the lack of technology in the schools, some schools made the decision to keep students in their current grade level for the 2021/2022 school year. Linda was kept in her current grade level of K-1 grade for the upcoming school year. She continues to live with her uncle and still wants to be a nurse when she grows up.
