We are pleased to announce that Linda was promoted to the K-2 grade for the 2022/2023 school year. Her favorite subject is writing and she continues to want to be a nurse when she grows up. Nurses and health care workers in general are sorely needed in Liberia where access to medical care is challenged by a limited number of health facilities and workers. GPA is honored to walk alongside Linda and encourage her dream of becoming a nurse. Thank you for your sponsorship and giving Linda the gift of education. Sponsored by: Scott Heise
Thanks to the generous donation from Nancy Kokkonen, Linda has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. She received an incomplete for the 2020/2021 school year. Due to COVID-19 outbreak, schools in Liberia had irregular school schedule. This combined with the lack of technology in the schools, some schools made the decision to keep students in their current grade level for the 2021/2022 school year. Linda was kept in her current grade level of K-1 grade for the upcoming school year. She continues to live with her uncle and still wants to be a nurse when she grows up.
Meet Linda, who has been generously sponsored by Nancy Kokkonen – Thrivent. She is 6 years old and is in the K-1 grade this year. She lives in Boapea, Liberia with her uncle. Linda’s abandoned the family about 3 years ago. Her mother who is blind and unemployed, is having a difficult time supporting the family. Her interest is helping her mother to walk and she hopes to be a nurse when she grows up.
