John was promoted to the third grade this year. At home, he has taken on many responsibilities due to his mother’s disability. He gathers wood from the forest for cooking, fetches water from the creek, and washes the family’s clothes. Eleven-year-old John is in first grade this year! He continues to live with his mother who is struggling with mobility challenges due to a disability. His father is not in the picture. Thanks to the generous donation from Marianne Siebert, John has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. He was promoted to the K-2 grade this year and still wants to be a engineer when he grows up. He continues to live with his mother.
