Thanks to the generous donation from Rebecca Mittelsteadt, Victoria has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. She received an incomplete for the 2020/2021 school year. Due to COVID-19 outbreak, schools in Liberia had irregular school schedule. This combined with the lack of technology in the schools, some schools made the decision to keep students in their current grade level for the 2021/2022 school year. Victoria was kept in her current grade level of K-1 grade for the upcoming school year. She continues to live with her mother and still wants to be a police officer when she grows up.

Meet Victoria, who has been generously sponsored by Rebecca Mittelsteadt. She is 6 years old and is going to school for the first time this year, in ABC. Victoria lives in Barpa, Liberia with her unemployed mother. About 3 years ago, Victoria’s father went to the neighboring country (Ivory Coast), in search of employment. However, since he left, he has not returned. Victoria’s mother has heard that he is now with a new lady in the Ivory Coast. Her interests are playing with her brothers and sisters. She hopes to be police officer when she grows up. (Victoria had the entire GPA group in total laughter when she said “I want to be a police to find my pa and beat him up”.)
