Alice has been promoted to the first grade! At 12 years old, she is becoming more and more confident. During our interview, she spoke with assurance, and we are incredibly proud of her growth. She continues to reside with her mother. Alice dreams of becoming a builder one day.
Having women in Liberia become builders is promoting gender equality and economic empowerment, as well as inspiring future generations to pursue diverse careers. We are proud of her for stepping out of the “norm” and following her dream. Thank you Leslie Eisenberg for helping make Alice’s dreams come true.

Thanks to the generous donation from Leslie Eisenberg, Alice has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. She received an incomplete for the 2020/2021 school year. Due to COVID-19 outbreak, schools in Liberia had irregular school schedule. This combined with the lack of technology in the schools, some schools made the decision to keep students in their current grade level for the 2021/2022 school year. Alice was kept in her current grade level of Kindergarten-1 grade for the upcoming school year. She continues to live with her mother and still wants to be a builder when she grows up.

Meet Alice, who has been generously sponsored by Leslie Eisenberg. She is 8 years old and is going to school for the first time this year, in ABC. Alice lives in Barpa, Liberia with her unemployed single mother who has 3 children and cannot afford to send them to school. Her interests are playing with her sister and helping with the dishes. She hopes to be a builder when she grows up to build her mother a house.
