Marthaline was smiling ear to ear after her successful promotion to the fourth grade. She worked extra hard this year to ensure she got good grades and passed. Fifteen-year-old Marthaline was retained in third grade. The circumstances that caused her retainment are not clear. During our update interview, Marthaline asked for another chance. GPA believes that everyone deserves another chance at success. Marthaline still lives with her subsistence farming mother and is thankful for another chance to progress in her educational goals. Thanks to the generous donation from Elizabeth Kille, Marthaline has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. She was promoted to the 3rd grade this year and still wants to be a minister when she grows up. During her free time she is a big help to her mother by watching her siblings after school and she even tutors her friends some days.

Thanks to the generous donation from Elizabeth Kille, Marthaline has been re-enrolled into school for the 2020/2021 school year. She received a double promotion and is in the 2nd grade this year. Her teachers are very proud of her hard work and so are we! She still wants to be a minister when she grows up. She continues to live with her mother and siblings.

Thanks to the generous donation from Lasisi Ibrahm, Marthaline has been re-enrolled into school for the 2019-2020 school year. She continues to make the four mile walk to and from school each day and works hard in school.

We are pleased to announce that Marthaline was promoted to the K-2 for the 2018/2019 school year. Marthaline’s village does not have a school. Meet Marthaline, who has been generously sponsored by the Natalie Buhl. She is 10 years old and in the kindergarten-1 this year. She lives in Karnla, Liberia with her mother who is unemployed and could not afford to send Marthaline and her siblings to school on a regular basis. She hopes to be a minister when she grows up.
