Patience faced a tough year and was unable to pass Kindergarten 1, meaning she will repeat the class this year. Her circumstances are heartbreaking, as she lives in extremely difficult conditions. Her mother, an alcoholic, does not provide proper care for Patience and her siblings. At times, Patience goes one or two days without eating, and her mother is often too drunk to help her cross the busy road to get to school. Because of this, Patience missed many days of school, which led to her failing this year. Despite these challenges, she is full of energy and carries a radiant smile that hides the pain she endures. The house she lives in is not fit for human living, leaving her exposed to mosquito bites and frequent illness. Even in such a harsh environment, Patience is determined to get an education. Her resilience and determination shine through, making her a truly special and courageous little girl. With the right support, Patience has the potential to overcome these challenges and achieve her dreams. Sponsored by: Tera Reese-Beisbier

Patience arrived at GPA registration smiling ear to ear, proud of herself and filled with excitement to share the news with us: she was promoted to the first grade! It’s been a year of hard work and determination for her, and we are incredibly proud of her achievements. She still dreams of becoming a nurse one day and continues to live with her mother. Patience was retained in pre-kindergarten (ABC) class. We are not sure why she was retained but we are sure Patience deserves a second chance. She is in pre-kindergarten this year and still wants to be a nurse. Sponsored by: Tera Reese-Beisbier

Meet Patience, who has been generously sponsored by Monica Engel. She is five years old and is going to school for he first time this year. Patience was abandoned by her father and lives in Duazon, Liberia with her mother. She and her family have been practically homeless due to their mother being an unemployed alcoholic. Patience is so extremly excited to go to school that when the GPA team had told her that she has been sponsored by the same person who sponsored her sisters, Angel and Favor, to go to school this year and she could not stop smiling. Her interests are playing with her sisters and she hopes to be a nurse when she grows up.
