November 2023: Nowah is back this year! She is now in the third grade this year and she still nurtures her dream of becoming a doctor one day. Nowah lives with her parents.
September 2022: Due to unspecified circumstances, Nowah was withdrawn from school. In Liberia, it’s common for children to leave school to assist their parents or caregivers with work, care for siblings, or manage household tasks. While the reasons for Nowah’s departure are unclear, we hope her parents prioritize her education and re-enroll her in school.
September 2021: Thanks to the generous donation from Silver Leaf Interiors & Laura Groenier, Nowah has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. Nowah was promoted to the 2nd grade this year and still wants to be a doctor when she grows up. She continues to live with her parents.

June 2019: We are pleased to announce that Nowah was promoted from K-1 to K-2 this year. Laura, thank you for your sponsorship and giving your student a gift of education.
2018: Nowah has been generously re-sponsored by Silver Leaf Interiors and Laura Krelwitz Groenier. She is 6 years old and was promoted to the kindergarten-1 this year. Nowah lives in Duazon, Liberia with her mother and father. Her father is unemployed and her mother is was empowered by Silver Leaf Interior and Laura Krelwitz Groenier with with her own business through Girl Power Africa. Her parents couldn’t afford to send her to school. Nowah’s interests are helping her mom to cook and she hopes to be a doctor when she grows up.
