September 2021: Thanks to the generous donation from Tera Reese Beisbier, Marie has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. She received an incomplete for the 2020/2021 school year. Due to COVID-19 outbreak, schools in Liberia had irregular school schedule. This combined with the lack of technology in the schools, some schools made the decision to keep students in their current grade level for the 2021/2022 school year. Marie was kept in her current grade level of 2nd grade for the upcoming school year. She continues to live with her father and still wants to be a business woman when she grows up.
September 2020: Meet Marie, who has been generously sponsored by Tera Reese-Beisbier. She is 9 years old and is in the 2nd grade this year. She lives in Sehyi Geh, Liberia with her father. Her mother abandoned her when her father decided to get a second wife. Her interests are selling and she hopes to be a business woman when she grows up.
