Lorina is now 17 years old and has been promoted to the 6th grade. This year was not an easy one for her. According to her teacher, Lorina struggled academically due to the heavy responsibilities she carries at home, along with being sick for a significant portion of the school year. Despite these setbacks, she pushed through and managed to pass—barely, but bravely. After losing her mother, Lorina continues to live with her big sister, who remains a steady source of love and support. However, the demands at home often require Lorina to balance schoolwork with household responsibilities, making her educational journey more challenging than most. Even so, she refused to give up. Reading has become her favorite subject this year. It offers her comfort and a sense of escape, allowing her to dream beyond her current circumstances. Though she knows she could have done better, Lorina has promised to work harder next year so she can pass more confidently and feel proud of her academic progress. Her resilience speaks volumes about her character. Even in a year filled with illness and responsibility, she kept showing up and did just enough to move forward. That determination is something to be admired. Lorina would like to say a heartfelt thank you to her sponsor for continuing to believe in her, even during a difficult season. Your support reminds her that she is not alone and that someone sees her potential. With encouragement and another chance, Lorina is determined to come back stronger next year.
