Thanks to the generous donation from Lynn Leidel, Koko has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. Koko received an incomplete for the 2020/2021 school year. Due to COVID-19 outbreak, schools in Liberia had irregular school schedule. This combined with the lack of technology, some schools made the decision to keep students in their current grade level for the 2021/2022 school year. Koko was kept in her current grade level for the upcoming school year. She continues to live with her mother and still wants to be a singer when she grows up.

Meet Koko, who has been generously sponsored by Sara Harris. She is 10 years old and is in the 2nd grade this year. She lives in Gehwee, Liberia with her mother. Her father denied the pregnancy and left the mother to care for the unborn child. Her mother has been doing a good job of taking care of her but has been difficult as a single mother. Koko’s interests are cooking and she hopes to a singer in the choir when she grows up.
