September 2021: Thanks to the generous donation from Nancy Kokkonen, Josephine has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. She was promoted to the 2nd grade this year and she wants to be a singer when she grows up. She continues to live with her stepmother.
September 2020: Meet Josephine, who has been generously sponsored by Nancy Kokkonen – Thrivent. She is 9 years old and is in the 1st grade this year. She lives in Boapea, Liberia with her ex-stepmother. Josephine lost her mother in January 2015 from the Ebola virus. Since her mother’s death, Josephine’s life has been very unstable. She’s been living from one family member to the other until her ex-stepmother took her recently. She is not sure of what her interests are or what she hopes to be when she grows up.
