September 2021: Thanks to the generous donation from Nancy Kokkonen, Helena has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. She was promoted to the 1st grade this year and still wants to be a nurse when she grows up. She continues to live with her aunt.
September 2020: Meet Helena, who has been generously sponsored by Nancy Kokkonen – Thrivent. She is 7 years old and is in the K-2 grade this year. She lives in Boapea, Liberia with her aunt. Both of her parents are dead. Her mother died in childbirth and her father died of yellow jaundice. Her interests are help save lives and she hopes to be a nurse when she grows up.
