September 2021: Thanks to the generous donation from Todd Schliesman, John has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. He was promoted to the 11th grade this year and still wants to be a president when he grows up. He continues to live with his uncle.
September 2020: Thanks to the generous donation from Todd Schliesman, John has been re-enrolled into school for the 2020/2021 school year. He has relocated to Sanniquellie City to continue his schooling as Gbapa’s school system stops at 6th grade and he is serious about finishing his education. He is in the 10th grade this year and still wants to be a president when he grows up. (John was out of town on the day of the 2020-2021 school distribution. His materials were left with the school authorities).

2018: John has been generously re-sponsored by the Norkeh Family. He is 19 years old and in the 8th grade this year. He lives in Gbapa, Liberia with his unemployed mother. His interests are finishing high school and he hopes to be a president when he grows up. John told Girl Power Africa “Olma, I know I 19 years old. And you don’t help people that are too old for school. Please don’t put me down. I want to finish school and my ma can’t help me. Please don’t put me down”.
