Janet is now 15 years old and has been promoted to the fourth grade this year. Despite the many challenges she continues to face at home, she is moving forward with determination and strength. After losing her father in such a tragic way, Janet still lives with her grandmother, who is caring for all seven grandchildren. Life remains very difficult for the family. Janet has taken on major responsibilities at home. She shared that she is the one who cooks for the family. After school, she runs to the local market to buy food, then goes to the creek to draw water. She carries the water home and begins preparing the meal. By the time she finishes cooking, it is often around 7:00 in the evening—the time when the family eats their first and only meal of the day. Even with these heavy responsibilities, Janet remains committed to her education. She said her favorite subject this year is spelling, and she enjoys learning new words and improving her writing skills. Her perseverance is truly inspiring. Janet still dreams of becoming a nurse one day. Her resilience, strength, and dedication to both her family and her schooling show just how serious she is about building a better future. Thank you for continuing to support Janet and giving her hope through education. Sponsored by: Scott Heise
