Beatrice is 15 years old and currently in the third grade. Her life has been marked by hardship ever since her father left the family five years ago. He had gone to the capital city of Monrovia in search of employment but ended up falling in love with another woman. This led to a divorce, leaving Beatrice’s mother to raise 11 children on her own. Since then, Beatrice’s mother has struggled to provide for the family, and as a result, none of the children had been able to attend school until now. Despite the challenges she faces, Beatrice remains hopeful and determined. She dreams of becoming a police officer one day, a goal that fuels her desire to keep going and make a better life for herself.
