Helena: S779-GBO

November

2025

Helena was promoted to the second grade this year. She is an extremely shy girl with low self-esteem, but over time, being part of a supportive program, she’s starting to come out of her shell. While she remains quiet in class, Helena is a dedicated student who always completes her work. Her teacher has noticed her focus and determination to do her best, even though she prefers to keep to herself. At home, Helena works hard to support her family. She helps by drawing water from the creek, often carrying about 15 gallons, and then assists with cooking for the family. Despite her shy nature, Helena’s hard work and quiet determination show her strength. We are proud of her progress and excited to see how she continues to grow. Sponsored by: Tina Hinchley

Helena wants to be a nurse when she grows up.  Her father is sick with an undiagnosed illness rendering him unable to assist their mother in subsistence farming activities which the family depends upon. At nine years old, Helena must step up to the plate and assist her mother with the farming activities.  Helena will be in kindergarten-2 class and is thankful for the opportunity to go to school.
