Edwina, at 17 years old, has achieved a remarkable milestone by advancing to the fifth grade! Her restored health has invigorated her academic journey, and she thrives in her studies. Edwina’s diligent efforts to excel academically are evident as she works tirelessly to achieve good grades, occasionally staying after class for additional assistance. Her determination to succeed is unwavering.

With each step forward, Edwina draws closer to her aspiration of becoming a teacher one day. Supported by her grandmother, she continues to reside with her, surrounded by love and encouragement as she pursues her dreams. Sponsored by: Hamby Communications, Inc.

Sixteen-year-old Edwina made a pass to fourth grade even though she was sick for a good portion of her second semester.  She is now back healthy and she was very proud of her progress – and so were we!  Math is her favorite subject and she still wants to be a teacher one day.  Edwina continues to live with her grandmother. Meet Edwina, who has been generously sponsored by Erika Klahn. She is 11 years old and in kindergarten-1 this year. Edwina lives in Sanniquellie, Liberia with her grandmother. When Edwina was about 3 years old, she was given to her aunt to be raised because as her mother could not afford to support her. Unfortunately, the aunt too had a lot of children of her own and could not afford to send Edwina to school. When Edwina’s grandmother found out that she was not going to school, she took Edwina from her aunt with the intention of enrolling her in school.  However, the grandmother too is now unemployed and couldn’t afford to send her. Edwina’s interests are helping her grandmother to cook, and she hopes to be a teacher when she grows up.
