September 2021: Thanks to the generous donation from Lisa & Mia VanderMause, Saye has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. He received an incomplete for the 2020-2021 school year. Due to COVID-19 outbreak, schools in Liberia had irregular school schedule. This combined with the lack of technology in the schools, some schools made the decision to keep students in their current grade level for the 2021-2022 school year. Saye was kept in his current grade level of 1st grade for the upcoming school year. He continues to live with his mother and still wants to be a doctor when he grows up.

2018: Saye has been generously sre-ponsored by Lisa and Mia VanderMause. He is 9 years old and was promoted to the Kindergarten this year.
2017: Meet Saye, who has been generously sponsored by Lisa VanderMause, Julie Sass and Jennifer Maier as a special birthday gift for Mia VanderMause. He is 9 years old and is going to school for the first time this year. He lives in Sanniquellie, Liberia with his mother. Since Wuo’s father left the family, their mother has been struggling to support her and her 5 children, of which 4 are disabled. His interests are learning and he hopes to be a doctor when he grows up.
