Christina has been promoted from 2nd grade to 3rd grade. She loves reading, and it’s one of her favorite things to do in her free time. In the mornings before school, Christina bakes cookies, takes them to school, and sells them during recess to help support her family. Her hardworking nature and entrepreneurial spirit shine through as she balances her studies with her business efforts. Christina’s teachers report she “is morally good but exhibited irregular attendance during the school year”. Due to her irregularity in the last academic year, eleven-year-old Christina was retained in her current class (1st grade). Reasons for the irregularity was not mentioned, but GPA team encouraged the school administration to reach out to Christina’s mother to discuss her academic needs. Sponsored by: Meg Prestigiacomo

Meet Christina, who has been generously sponsored by an Anonymous donor (Mohamad). She is 9 years old and is in the K-2 grade this year. She lives in Zorgowee, Liberia with her mother. Her mother is unemployed and her father abandoned his family and hasn’t been seen since. Her interests are playing with her friends and she hopes to be a nurse when she grows up.
