Catherine was struggling with chronic malaria. Finding malaria medicine is a challenge in villages like Sopea where Catherine lives. GPA distributes over the counter drugs like malaria meds. This option was available for Catherine and her health has improved. GPA seeks to provide holistic support for our students whenever we can. Catharine was retained in first grade but is looking forward to success during her new school year. Sponsored by: Phil Vasby

Thanks to the generous donation from Phil Vasby, Catherine has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. She received an incomplete for the 2020/2021 school year. Due to COVID-19 outbreak, schools in Liberia had irregular school schedule. This combined with the lack of technology in the schools, some schools made the decision to keep students in their current grade level for the 2021/2022 school year. Catherine was kept in her current grade level of 1st grade for the upcoming school year. She continues to live with her aunt and still wants to be a nurse when she grows up.
