Blessing was promoted to the 7th grade this year, and her favorite subject is science. She still lives with her grandmother and dreams of becoming a banker someday. After school, she enjoys her favorite meal of fried okra with rice before helping her mom with household chores, such as washing the dishes, sweeping, and cleaning up. Once her tasks are done, she settles down to focus on her homework. Blessing’s teachers speak highly of her, praising her as an outstanding student and an incredibly helpful classmate. She is always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need, making her a valued and respected member of her school community. Sponsored by: Laura Stoller

Meet Blessing, who has been generously sponsored by Laura Stoller. She is 8 years old and is in the 3rd grade this year. She lives in Duazon, Liberia with her grandmother. Blessing was 6 months old when her 17-year-old mother dropped her off at her grandmother’s house saying: “I am too young to take care of a child. I just don’t have money to take care of the baby. Her father wants nothing to do with me. And I don’t want to throw her away the way other people can do. Please take her for me so she can have a chance to live. The day I get the hand, I will come for her”. Her interests are being with grandmother, whom she loves dearly. She hopes to be a bank manager when she grows up so she can have money for her grandmother and mother.
