Alphonso was promoted to the Kindergarten-1! He has been re-enrolled into school for the 2022/2023 school year. His favorite subject is story time and he still wants to be a teacher when he grows up. During our interview, his mother reports that his confidence has grown tremendously since joining school. She says “GPA has changed all of our lives”. They are extremely grateful to their sponsor for this opportunity. Sponsored by: Lisa Moon

Thanks to the generous donation from Lisa Moon, Alphonso has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. He received an incomplete for the 2020/2021 school year. Due to COVID-19 outbreak, schools in Liberia had irregular school schedule. This combined with the lack of technology in the schools, some schools made the decision to keep students in their current grade level for the 2021/2022 school year. Alphonso was kept in his current grade level of ABC grade for the upcoming school year. He continues to live with his mother and still wants to be a teacher when he grows up.

Meet Aphanso, who has been generously sponsored by Monique Johnson. He is 8 years old and is going to school for the first this year in ABC. He lives in Vehyipa, Liberia with his mother. Aphanso and his 2 brothers are severely disabled. Their mother is only one and cannot pick all three of them up – so they’ve learned to move around by crawling on the ground, due to lack of wheelchairs. However, he really wants to go to school with his 2 disabled brothers who are currently being assisted by Girl Power Africa. He really wants to go to school to become a teacher when he grows up.
