Nine-year-old Anita live in Duazon, Liberia with her mother and two siblings. She is in the second grade and wants to be a nurse when she grows up. A single mother with no assured income caring for three children in Monrovia (Liberia’s capitol city where the community of Duazon is located) is a daunting responsibility. Anita’s mom works as a house servant and earns less than $70.00 monthly. Already, she had to send one of her sons to live with his uncle because she could barely provide food and shelter for her family.
