Anita: S892-DUA

November

2024

Anita was proudly promoted to the fourth grade this year, a testament to her hard work and determination. Unfortunately, she was unable to attend the school distribution because she was busy selling cookies in the streets to help support her family. Despite this, Anita’s school principal shared that she is an incredibly serious and hardworking student who takes her education very seriously. Her dedication to both her studies and her family responsibilities is inspiring. With her strong work ethic and determination, Anita is sure to continue excelling in her education and making her family proud. Thank you for supporting Anita on her journey! Nine-year-old Anita live in Duazon, Liberia with her mother and two siblings.  She is in the second grade and wants to be a nurse when she grows up.  A single mother with no assured income caring for three children in Monrovia (Liberia’s capitol city where the community of Duazon is located) is a daunting responsibility.  Anita’s mom works as a house servant and earns less than $70.00 monthly.  Already, she had to send one of her sons to live with his uncle because she could barely provide food and shelter for her family. She reached out to GPA to support Anita and we were happy we could assist.  Thanks goes to our amazing partner support network. Sponsored by:  Joyce Jorgensen
