LOVETY DURING: E129-DUA

Lovety is a single mother with 2 children, ages 4 and 2 months. She graduated from high school in June 2013 right before the Ebola crisis. She had been hired as a teacher’s assistance at the local school. But unfortunately, Ebola explored in the country. All schools were closed. Once schools reopened, she was told that the position was no longer available. She’s currently in a relationship with a man who is physically and verbally abusive and has no respect for her. Lovety said she feels hopeless being in a relationship were there is no respect. He leaves for months at a time with no explanation as to his whereabout. She has to take him back each time he returns because he is the only one who supports she and the kids. She needs help to gain her independence. She said “with this help, I will have a leg to stand on for me and my children and I promise old ma, I will not let you down”. She hopes to eventually leave the situation she’s currently in for the sick of she and the children. Or, maybe, if he sees that she’s an independent woman, he may learn to respect her for the strong woman that she is.These are photos of Lovety receiving her bags of coal.
