LOUISE: E453-SAN

JUNE 2022:  42-year-old Louise is a single mom living with her seven children in Sanniquellie, Nimba County.  She provides for her family by selling cooked foods in her community.  Louise specializes in making GB (a pounded cassava dough mixture served with a savory, spicy stew), a dish that is eaten throughout the day. She also makes and sell a variety of stews and rice. Rice and cassava are Liberia’s staple foods.  Providing for seven children is a challenge that the smart and resilient Louise takes in stride. Girl Power was happy to help out by providing a Business Development Package to strengthen and expand her “cook shop” business.  A donation from the Girl Power Africa General Fund has given Louise and her household a hand up.
