Kou Tokpah is a single mother of 5 children of which 4 are disabled. Her husband left the family about 2 years ago and have not returned. According to Kou, the husband had told her that she was the reason for the children’s disabilities. Kou used to go in the jungle to cut wood to sell and support her family. On an average day, she’ll make about 150 LD ( about $1 USD). Thanks for the generous donations from Heather O’Brien, as a Mother’s Day gift for her mother Janice O’Brien, Kou has started her very own business selling char-coal from home.
