Fourteen-year-old Victor was promoted to fourth grade. His favorite subject is science. His interest and academic performance in science opens a world of opportunities and now, instead of becoming a driver, Victor wants to be a healthcare worker. He has not figured out just what kind of health care worker, but he said he want to work in a clinic. Thanks to the generous donation from James Barker, Victor has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. He received an incomplete for the 2020-2021 school year. However, due to the COVID-19 outbreak, schools in Liberia had irregular school schedule. This combined with the lack of technology in the schools, some schools made the decision to cancel double/triple promotions that were given to students the year before. Victor’s double promotion was taken away and he is now in the 3rd grade level for the 2021/2022 school year. He continues to live with his mother and still wants to be a driver when he grows up.

He has received a double promotion and is in the 3rd grade this year and still wants to be a driver when he grows up. He is doing well in his classes. He continues to live with his mother.

Meet Victor, who has been generously sponsored by Jurga Jokimciute. He is 9 years old and in the kindergarten-2 this year. Victor lives in Suakazue with his mother who is unemployed and couldn’t afford to send him to school. His interests are playing with friends, and he hopes to be a driver when he grows up. When Girl Power Africa had chosen this kid to be send to school, some of the people in the town told us that he doesn’t smile…. I think they were wrong!! Look at that smile on his face!
