This year, Stephen remained in the second grade after his school conducted an assessment and determined he would benefit from strengthening his lessons before moving forward. Although it was disappointing at first, Stephen is taking it positively and is working hard to improve. He shared that math is his favorite subject this year, and he enjoys learning new numbers and problem-solving skills. Stephen still lives with his single father and siblings, where life continues to be challenging due to limited resources. Even with these hardships, he stays hopeful and keeps his dream alive of becoming a doctor one day. Stephen’s love for learning and his determination to do better show his resilience. He continues to face each year with courage, hope, and a willingness to grow. Sponsored by: Katherine and Dave Batterman
