Thanks to the generous donation from Phil Vasby, Sharley has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. She was promoted to K-2 this year and still wants to be a teacher when she grows up. She continues to live with her mother. She loves the game mancala and even beats some grown-ups in her village at the game.

Meet Sharley, who has been generously sponsored by Phil Vasby. She is 8 years old and is in K-1 this year. She lives in Gehwee, Liberia with her mother. Sharley’s father denied the pregnancy. This brought shame and disgrace to her young mother. Currently, Sharley’s mother is unemployed and could not afford to send her to school. Her interests playing games and she hopes to be a teacher when she grows up.
