Serena has been promoted to the first grade! With each passing year, she grows more confident. She enjoys learning and playing with her friends. Serena made a successful pass to kindergarten-2 class. Her favorite subject is math and she still wants to be a doctor one day. Serena still lives with her mother and father and both parents are still struggling with illnesses that prevents them from capably caring for their children. Meet Serena, who has been generously sponsored by Joyce Jorgensen on behalf of the estate of Dennis Valstad. She is 7 years old and is going to school for the first time in ABC. She lives in Sehyi Geh, Liberia with her mother. Her father very frail and her mother is bedridden with a rare disease that is putting rash all over her body. Her illness has affected her ability to properly care for her family. Her interests are to help her mom and she hopes to be a doctor when she grows up.
