MARTHALINE: S540-SEH

September 2021: Thanks to the generous donation from Joyce Jorgensen, Marthaline has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. She was promoted to the K1 grade this year and still wants to be a teacher when she grows up. She continues to live with her mother. 

September 2020: Meet Marthaline, who has been generously sponsored by Joyce Jorgensen on behalf of the estate of Dennis Valstad. She is 6 years old and is going to school for the first time. She lives in Sehyi Geh, Liberia with her mother.  Her father was physically and verbally abusive to her mother. Her mother finally got tired of the abuse and went to live with her parents. Her interests are playing with her wooden doll made out of a palm branch. She doesn’t know what she hopes to be when she grows up.
