Samuel received a double promotion from third to fifth grade. His favorite subject is math and he still wants to be a teacher when he grows up. Samuel still lives with his grandparents and is looking forward to this new school year. He is hopeful he can get another double promotion to enable him catch up with his age-appropriate grade level. Thanks to the generous donation from Lisa and Mia VanderMause, Samuel has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. He received an incomplete for the 2020/2021 school year. Due to COVID-19 outbreak, schools in Liberia had irregular school schedule. This combined with the lack of technology in the schools, some schools made the decision to keep students in their current grade level for the 2021-2022 school year. Samuel was kept in his current grade level of 3rd grade for the upcoming school year. He continues to live with his grandparents and still wants to be a teacher when he grows up.
