Cooper was demoted to the second grade this year. Since the death of his father, he has struggled in school, and the school, along with his teachers, decided to place him back one grade to give him the support he needed. Although it has been a tough time for him, Cooper is slowly making progress and taking small steps toward improving academically. Sponsored by: Mark Dumas

Thanks to the generous donation from Mark Dumas, Cooper has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. He received an incomplete for the 2020/2021 school year. Due to COVID-19 outbreak, schools in Liberia had irregular school schedule. This combined with the lack of technology in the schools, some schools made the decision to keep students in their current grade level for the 2021/2022 school year. Cooper was kept in his current grade level of 1st grade for the upcoming school year. He continues to live with his mother and still wants to be a pilot when he grows up.
