RUTH: S631-GBL

Thanks to the generous donation from Lori Fischer Hall, Ruth has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. She received an incomplete for the 2020-2021 school year. However, due to the COVID-19 outbreak, schools in Liberia had irregular school schedule. This combined with the lack of technology in the schools, some schools made the decision to cancel double/triple promotions that were given to students the year before. Ruth’s double promotion was taken away and She is now in the K-2 grade for the 2021-2022 school year. She continues to live with her grandparents and still wants to be a teacher when she grows up.

Meet Ruth, who has been generously sponsored by Lori Fischer Hall. She is 7 years old and in the 1st grade this year. She lives in Gbeleyee Town, Liberia with her grandparents. Both of her parents abandoned her 3 years ago. She is living with her grandmother and paralyzed grandfather. Her interests are learning about new places and she hopes to be a teacher when she grows up.
