RUTH: S487-BOA

September 2021: Thanks to the generous donation from JoAnn Bowen, Ruth has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. She received an incomplete for the 2020-2021 school year. Due to COVID-19 outbreak, schools in Liberia had irregular school schedule. This combined with the lack of technology in the schools, some schools made the decision to keep students in their current grade level for the 2021-2022 school year. Ruth was kept in her current grade level of K1 grade for the upcoming school year. She continues to live with her aunt and still wants to be a mechanic when she grows up.

September 2020:  Meet Ruth, who has been generously sponsored by JoAnn Bowen. She is 7 years old and is in the K-1 grade this year. She lives in Boapea, Liberia with her aunt. Her father is paralyzed and the cause is unknown. Her mother left her and her father because of the father’s condition. Her interests are repairing cars and she hopes to be a mechanic when she grows up.
