Rebecca is repeating fifth grade this year after being unable to complete last year’s school year. She missed many weeks while helping care for children in the family she lives with, as one family member was ill. Her favorite subject is math, and she is determined to work hard to be promoted to the next grade level this year. Rebecca also hopes to regain her role as class secretary, a position she previously held and takes great pride in. Rebecca’s dedication, resilience, and commitment to her education are inspiring, and she is grateful for the opportunity to continue learning.

Ten-year-old Rebecca is promoted to third grade! Still living with her grandmother, Rebecca enjoys playing with her friends and helping her grandmother out with household chores like fetching water, washing dishes, sweeping, and others. Thanks to the generous donation from Sandra McNamee, Rebecca has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. She was promoted to the 2nd grade this year and her favorite subject is reading. She still wants to be a nurse when she grows up and continues to live with her grandmother.

Meet Rebecca, who has been generously sponsored by Sandra McNamee. She is 8 years old and in the 1st grade this year. She lives in Borsonnor Town, Liberia with her grandmother. Her father was an alcoholic and died a few years ago from excessive drinking. After her father’s death, her mother abandoned her with her grandmother. Her interests are playing with her friends and helping to cook and clean. She hopes to be a nurse when she grows up.
