Eight-year-old, aspiring future teacher Esther passed to kindergarten (K-2) class. Her teacher reports she is a good student and likes reading/story time. Identifying and encouraging students’ strengths is helpful to Esther as evidenced by her willingness to volunteer to read in her class. She is also gifted in math. We are not sure what will become of these talents displayed by Esther, but one thing for sure is that GPA, through its amazing sponsor network, will continue to do all it can to support Esther’s educational journey. She continues to live with her father’s friend and still wants to be a teacher when she grows up. Sponsored by: Donations from General Funds

Thanks to the generous donation from Olivia Aerial, Esther has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. She received an incomplete for the 2020/2021 school year. Due to COVID-19 outbreak, schools in Liberia had irregular school schedule. This combined with the lack of technology in the schools, some schools made the decision to keep students in their current grade level for the 2021/2022 school year. Esther was kept in her current grade level of K-1 grade for the upcoming school year. She continues to live with her father’s friend and still wants to be a teacher when she grows up.

Meet Esther, who has been generously sponsored by Olivia Aerial. She is 6 years old and is in the K-1 grade this year. She lives in Borsonnor, Liberia with her father’s friend and his wife. Her father died of malaria and her mother abandoned her and moved to Guinea to re-marry. Her interests are playing with friends and helping with the cooking. She hopes to be a teacher when she grows up.
