Twelve-year-old Princess was promoted to kindergarten-2 class.  She has had a lengthy (three year) journey to move from pre-kindergarten to kindergarten-2.  We know Princess has lived a hard life and Girl Power doesn’t believe in giving up on students. We are here to support her through this journey. We had a great talk with Princess on some steps to take to succeed this year. Princess is excited to progress in her future and educational journey. She still lives with her mother and wants to be a teacher when she grows up. Sponsored by: Joanie Hogan

Meet Princess, who has been generously sponsored by The Norkeh Family. She is 8 years old and in K-1 this year. Princess lives in New Yekepa, Liberia with her mother. Since the death of Princess’ father two years ago, her mother, who is unemployed has been unable to support her family of four. Princess was brought to Girl Power Africa for assistance by the principal at the local school. He told us: “Princess is one of our smartest students, but her mom didn’t send her to school last year because she’s suffering to take care of she and the children since her husband’s death”. Princess was in very bad condition when we met her. Girl Power is honored to send her to school to give her a better opportunity at life. Princess hopes to be a teacher when she grows up.
