PRINCE: S80-SAN

November

2023

Prince’s advancement to the fourth grade marked another achievement in his educational journey, earning recognition from his teacher for his exemplary conduct and positive influence on his classmates. Beyond the confines of the classroom, Prince’s dedication shines as he balances his studies with the responsibility of supporting his family. After school, he takes to the streets, selling plantain chips or cala (donuts) baked by his mother, striving to contribute to their livelihood. Despite the challenges he faces, Prince’s aspiration to become a doctor remains steadfast, driving him forward with determination and resilience as he works towards a brighter future for himself and his loved ones.

Prince was promoted to third grade and has been re-enrolled into school for the 2022/2023 school year.  It’s been a long journey to get to this point but Price was so proud of himself during our interview. He said “Ma I am finally a 3rd grader!” (with a BIG smile). He still resides with his mother and wants to be a doctor one day.  His favorite subject is science. Sponsored by: Sue Smith Holman

Meet Prince Gono, who has been generously re-sponsored by Sue Smith Holman. He is 11 years old and was promoted to the kindergarten-2 this year. We are proud of his hard work both in school and at home. Prince’s mother is has a skin disorder that prevents her from spending too much time in the public due to stigma towards the family. Prince is a huge help to his mother, whom he loves and cares for dearly. Every day after school, Prince heads home as fast as he can to be with his mother to help. His interests are playing soccer and helping his mom. He hopes to be a doctor when he grows up!
