Patience has been promoted to the fourth grade! At thirteen years old, she excels in math, her favorite subject. Patience resides with her grandparents, and during her free time, she sells fruit on the sides of the road to help support herself and her family. She nurtures her dream of becoming a nurse in the future. Sponsored by: Kaitlyn Fravel

Patience received a double promotion from first grade to third grade!  She is excited about this upcoming school year and hope to one day catch up with her age-appropriate grade level.  Patience continues to live with her grandparents and want to be a nurse when she grows up.

June 2019

We are pleased to announce that Patience was promoted to the K-1 for the 2018/2019 school year. Alice Thorson, thank you for your sponsorship and giving your student a gift of education through Girl Power Africa.

Meet Patience, who has been generously sponsored by Alice Thorson. She is 8 years old and is going to school for the first time this year, in ABC. She lives in Barpa, Liberia with her grandparents. Patience never met her father as he disowned the pregnancy when her mom was pregnant with her. Her mother makes a garden for living; however, the garden does not produce enough to produce to support her and her 2 children. Patience was given to her grandparents to live. Both of Patience’s grandparents are old and unemployed. As much as they love Patience and would do practically anything for her, they could not afford to send her to school. She hopes to be a nurse when she grows up.
