September 2021: Thanks to the generous donation from Todd Svanda, Otis has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. He was promoted to the 4th grade this year and still wants to be a English teacher when he grows up. He continues to live with his parents.
September 2020: Thanks to the generous donation from Todd Svanda, Otis has been re-enrolled into school for the 2020/2021 school year. He is in the 3rd grade this year and still wants to be a English teacher when he grows up. He continues to live with his mother and father.
October 2019: Thanks to the generous donation from Todd Svanda, Otis has been re-enrolled into school for the 2019-2020 school year. Please help to keep Otis and his family in your prayers as his mother is seriously sick. She’s been in the hospitial for the last month.
June 2019: We are pleased to announce that Otis was promoted to the 2nd grade for the 2018-2019 school year. Todd, thank you for your sponsorship and giving your student a gift of education through Girl Power Africa.
2018: Meet Otis, who has been generously sponsored by Todd Svanda. He is 13 years old and in the 1st grade this year. He lives in Sanniquellie, Liberia with his mother and father. His mother is a seamstress and his father is a carpenter. However, both of their income is too low and therefore, they can not afford to send their children to school on a regular basis. Otis is extremely grateful for the opportunity to go to school this year. He wants to be an English teacher when he grows up.
