Nancy was promoted to the 5th grade this year! She has been re-enrolled into school for the 2023/2024 school year. Her teacher reports she had a good school year and always strives to be the top student, which inspires others to try hard too. 2022

Nancy was promoted to the 4th grade this year and has been re-enrolled into school for the 2022/2023 school year. She is fourteen years old and her favorite subject is science and math. During our interview, she was all smiles and very grateful for this opportunity. She still wants to be a nurse when she grows up and continues to live with her mother. Thanks to the generous donation from Mike & Karen Larson, Nancy has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. She was promoted to the 3rd grade this year and still wants to be a nurse when she grows up. Nurses and health care workers in general are sorely needed in Liberia where access to medical care is challenged by a limited number of health facilities and workers. GPA is honored to walk alongside Nancy and encourage her dream of becoming a nurse. She continues to live with her mother.

Thanks to the generous donation from Mike and Karen Larson, Nancy has been re-enrolled into school for the 2020/2021 school year. She is in the 2nd grade this year. She was not present during registration, but her materials were left with administration to be given upon her return. She has gone to help take care of her aunt who had an operation. She continues to live with her mother.

Meet Nancy, who has been generously sponsored by Mike and Karen Larson. She is 10 years old, in kindergarten-2 this year, and lives in Gbobayee, Liberia with her mother. Nancy’s mother is an unemployed single mother of 3 children who could not afford to send Nancy to school on a regular basis. She hopes to be a nurse when she grows up.
