IRMINA: S202-BOA
November
2023
Irmina was held back in 3rd grade because since her return from the FGM, she has been very sick and was unable to attend school on a regular basis. She is getting back healthy again and has been re-enrolled into school for the 2023/2024 school year. We are hoping she can recover and get back to having a healthy childhood. She is very grateful we have not given up on her and she has another opportunity to attend school. She still wants to be a nurse when she grows up and continues to live with her mother. Thanks to the generous donation from Scott Heise, Irmina has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. She received an incomplete for the 2020/2021 school year. Due to COVID-19 outbreak, schools in Liberia had irregular school schedule. This combined with the lack of technology in the schools, some schools made the decision to keep students in their current grade level for the 2021/2022 school year. Irmina was kept in her current grade level of 3rd grade for the upcoming school year. She continues to live with her mother and still wants to be a doctor when she grows up.

Thanks to the generous donation from Scott Heise, Irmina has been re-enrolled into school for the 2020/2021 school year. Irmina was not present at registration this year as her mother sent her away, until the starting of school, so she would not be part of the FGM. Her school supplies were left with the administration. She is in the 3rd grade this year and still wants to be a doctor when she grows up. She continues to live with her mother.
