2025
Murphy returned for his 2025 registration with good news to share. He passed the 7th grade and has been promoted to the 8th grade. He reported doing well in his schoolwork last year and continues to enjoy mathematics as his favorite subject. Murphy lives with both of his parents, and he said that his mother and father motivate him to keep learning. He is grateful that Girl Power Africa supports him by providing his school materials and paying his school fees, which makes him happy and ready for the new school year. Murphy’s goal is to become a prefect for his school, and he hopes to one day use his education to help his family when they are sick or in need. Since receiving support from GPA, he shared that things have gotten much better for him. Sponsored by: Pam Albi

Murphy, now in the 7th grade, continues to impress everyone with his hard work and determination. His love for math and geography keeps him engaged in school, where he always gives his best effort. At home, Murphy takes on leadership in his village. He formed a team of friends to help on local farms, moving from one to another to lend a hand. In return, they are given food or sometimes small amounts of money for recess. Murphy’s initiative not only helps his friends but also supports his family and community. His strength and work ethic are unmatched—he can clear a whole five acres of farmland on his own if needed. Despite his busy life, Murphy always has a smile on his face and a kind word for everyone he meets. He’s outgoing, grateful, and a role model for others, both in school and in his village. Fourteen-year-old Murphy is a fifth grader who love playing football. He lives with his grandfather and three other extended family members. His father and mother are struggling with illnesses that necessitated sending Murphy to live with his grandfather. Though elderly and struggling with his own health, Murphy’s grandfather lovingly took him in. Murphy wants to be a doctor one day. His grandfather is thankful for the GPA scholarship opportunity.
