Thanks to the generous donation from Joyce Jorgensen, Mamie has been re-enrolled into school for the 2021/2022 school year. She received a double promotion and is now in the 4^th grade this year and still wants to be a nurse when she grows up. She continues to live with her uncle.

Meet Miemie, who has been generously sponsored by Joyce Jorgensen on behalf of the estate of Dennis Valstad.  She is a 10-year-old orphan and is in the 2 grade this year. She lives in Zolowee, Liberia with her uncle and his wife.  About a year after the death of Miemie’s father, her mother too passed away while sleeping. Her father’s brother and his wife took Miemie and her sister Oretha to raise. Unfortunately, the uncle is unemployed and could not afford to send the children to school.   Her interests are playing with her sister, and she hopes to be a nurse when she grows up.
