Twelve-year-old Mercy is now in 1st grade! She has been generously re-sponsored by Stacy Peters. She is doing great in school Her favorite pastime is cooking for her family and her favorite dish is torbogee stew with rice.  Torbogee is a pungent, fermented stew made with a variety of vegetable and meat options. She lives in Sanniquellie with her mother and father. Her interests are playing with dolls and she hopes to be a doctor when she grows up.

She lives in Sanniquellie, Liberia with her mother and father who are employed and could not afford to send Mercy and her sisters to school.
