Mary: S839-DEW

Mary is 9 years old now and is now in fifth grade after passing fourth grade. She shared that Girl Power Africa continues to help her by providing school materials, and she feels happy to be back in school this year. Mary hopes to become class president and stays motivated by her mother. At home, she helps with cooking for about three hours a day, and she dreams of becoming a teacher so she can encourage others to go to school.

Mary is now in the fourth grade, and a lot has changed in her life since last year. She was fully abandoned by her father, leaving her mother as the sole caregiver for Mary and her siblings. Determined to help, Mary spends much of her time assisting around the house, and she is grateful for the support she receives through Girl Power Africa, which she says has brought happiness into her life. Sponsored by: April Forer

Mary has been promoted to third grade! She did very well in school this year and got great grades. During her free time, Mary sings in her church chorus. She continues to live with her mother and still dreams of becoming a judge one day. Sponsored by: Teah Michael

Meet Mary, she is in the second grade and lives in Dewoblee, Liberia with her mother and her four siblings. Mary loves singing and wants to be a judge one day.  Her favorite pastime is singing. She also helps her mother with household chores. Her father abandoned his family several years ago. Mary is excited about beginning another school year and thankful for the gift of a scholarship.
