Martina was promoted to the 5th grade this year, and she continues to be a dedicated student with a strong passion for science. After school, her day is far from over. She heads to the well, where she draws about 15 gallons of water and brings it back home. Once at home, Martina helps with cooking, cleaning, and managing other household chores. Only after all these tasks are done does she settle down to do her homework. Despite the long hours of work at home, Martina remains a serious and hardworking student. She values her education deeply and is extremely grateful for the opportunity to attend school. Her dedication to both her studies and her family is admirable, and her teachers recognize her commitment to learning. Martina is a wonderful example of resilience, responsibility, and gratitude. We’re so proud of her.. Sponsored by: Lakeya Bullard

Meet Martina, who has been generously sponsored by Amy Zastrow. She is 9 years old and is in K-2 this year. Martina lives in Seclepea, Liberia with her single mother. Although Martina’s mom is doing petite business with a total value of about $30 USD, the income that she receives from the business is not sufficient to support her and her 2 children. Martina’s interests are playing with her sister and she hopes to be a doctor when she grows up.
