MARIE: S112-SOP

October 2022

2022

Marie was promoted to the 2nd grade and has been re-enrolled into school for the 2022/2023 school year. Marie still wants to be a medical doctor when she grows up. With less than 500 doctors serving a population of 4.5 million people, Liberian households often experience fatalities due to treatable illnesses.  Children aspiring to become doctors is a worthy cause. She continues to live with her mother. Meet Marie, who has been generously sponsored by Lori Fischer Hall and family. She is 7 years old and in the Kindergarten-1 this year. Marie lives in Sopea Town, Liberia with her mom. Her mother is a self-supporting student who has four children with no reliable income and who could not afford to send Marie and her siblings to school. Her interests are playing with dolls and she hopes to be a medical doctor when she grows up.
